WhitePages.com Introduces Mobile Advertising Options
Increasingly popular free service provides additional marketing tools for advertisers

WhitePages.com, the best place for searching, finding and connecting with people, today announced the availability of advertising inventory on the new mobile WhitePages.com site. Launched in Beta last month, the WhitePages.com mobile service provides users of cell phones, Blackberries and PDAs free access to the same information found at www.whitepages.com, including people search, business search, reverse lookups, area codes and ZIP codes. Designed specifically for use on a wide range of mobile handsets, the site features easy navigation and viewing of all content within one screen.
"As a natural extension of our existing product, we designed the mobile site for an audience on the go," said Susie Kang Algard, senior vice president of WhitePages.com. "Mobile sites like ours provide advertising clients a way to reach these consumers by providing a local opportunity for driving in store traffic, or reinforcing branding activity, similar to an outdoor campaign. We also enable advertisers to target by carrier, type of device and time and day of the week."
According to the CTIA, there are more than 209 million wireless subscribers in the United States, and according to comScore Media Metrix, 124 million wireless subscribers use a Web-enabled device. With 40 percent of mobile searches involving directory listings searches for contact information, the task is third only to searches for maps and directions and searches for ring tones, games and graphics¹.
The largest groups of 'search on-the-go' users are men between 45 and 54 years-old, college graduates, and business and leisure travelers¹. In the first month since its launch, the WhitePages.com mobile site has already generated more than 600,000 page views, and is expected to generate 10 million page views next year.
WhitePages.com is a top 40 Internet property. The site receives more than 20 million users, executes more than 130 million searches, and generates more than 300 million page views each month.
